Protein enzyme that modifies the permeability of connective tissue by hydrolysis of hyaluronic acid. It acts as a depolymerizer of glucosaminoglycans and as a diffusing agent. It hydrolyzes hyaluronic acid by separating the junction between the C1 of the glucosamine molecule and the C4 of glucuronic acid. This mechanism temporarily reduces the viscosity of the intercellular cement and promotes the diffusion of active ingredients.
