IBSA PROFHILO

Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide naturally present in the human body whose primary function is to maintain proper tissue hydration, thanks to its intrinsic ability to bind large quantities of water. Sodium hyaluronate consists of repeating chains of N-acetylglucosamine and sodium glucuronate disaccharide units. It is an essential component of the extracellular matrix in most tissues, including the skin. PROFHILO is a buffered physiological hyaluronic acid solution in high molecular weight (H-HA) and low molecular weight (L-HA) forms. The high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid used in this product is obtained through biofermentation without chemical modification and is therefore extremely well tolerated. Furthermore, thanks to a specific and patented solution processing technique (NAHYCO Hybrid Technology), the H-HA and L-HA chains contained in PROFHILO interact with each other, providing unique rheological characteristics that allow for the administration of higher concentrations of hyaluronic acid without increasing viscosity. The hyaluronic acid formula with varying molecular weights in PROFHILO is based on the Hydrolift Action concept. Hydrolift Action is an innovative approach designed to compensate for the physiological reduction of hyaluronic acid in the skin and to restore skin hydration, elasticity, and tone by synergistically combining deep hydration with the mechanical action of skin lifting. The other components of the product are sodium chloride, sodium phosphate, and water for injection.

INDICATIONS:

PROFHILO, thanks to its corrective/plumping action on natural and induced skin depressions, intervenes:

• in the physiological process of skin aging, which manifests itself, among other things, as reduced skin hydration, alteration of elastic fibers and collagen in the dermis, with loss of turgor and skin tone;

• in the dermal tissue repair process in cases of scars resulting from superficial skin trauma (e.g., acne and chickenpox). The viscoelastic and hydrating properties of hyaluronic acid, combined with the ability to maintain adequate levels of hyaluronic acid in skin tissues, rehydrate the skin and create optimal conditions to prevent and compensate for the skin aging process while promoting tissue remodeling with a corrective effect on photo- and chrono-aging and any potential skin scarring. Hyaluronic acid also acts within the extracellular matrix, creating the physiological conditions for the proliferation, migration, and organization of the dermal cell component. Furthermore, the intradermal administration of PROFHILO, and its action on the dermal layer rather than the epidermal layer, allows for the delivery of an optimal amount of hyaluronic acid directly to the tissue being treated. This counteracts the cytotoxic action of free radicals on fibroblasts and lower adipose tissue, ensuring the effectiveness of preventive and corrective aesthetic medicine treatments. The hyaluronic acid used in PROFHILO is obtained through biosynthesis of a natural substrate without any further chemical modification. Therefore, PROFHILO possesses excellent biocompatibility, and its use in the dermis allows for its integration with endogenous hyaluronic acid, which has been reduced and altered by the skin's physiological aging process or following superficial skin trauma. Furthermore, in vitro studies have been conducted to identify incompatibilities and/or interactions between PROFHILO and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The results obtained reveal that PRP does not alter the rheological behavior of sodium hyaluronate.

PROFHILO is indicated for facial and body treatments to redefine contours and address laxity. However, it is particularly indicated for treating the malar-zygomatic, submalar, brachial, and abdominal areas, as well as areas affected by skin laxity.

It is recommended to perform two treatment sessions 30 days apart, followed, if necessary, by maintenance sessions every two months. However, it is advisable to evaluate the specific PROFHILO protocol based on the patient's stage of aging.
